razr2's or itp gncc

Post by weld_13 on Fri Jul 03, 2009 3:22 pm

I need fronts, prefer 21" but would take 22" if the price is right.

I have heard good things about the ITPs but I cannot recommend any thing but Razr 2s. IMO there is no other tire for XC. I don't have any extras right now.

Might try this though. Great price. http://gbctires.com/xrextires.htm

I was going to buy some new cheapos like gbc or kenda but after thinking about it I think I might as well buy a used set of itps or maxxis in good shape and I would be better off.

The X-Rex has the exact same tread pattern as the Razr 2 and it is also 6 ply.

I just don't want to waste my money on a set of tires I don't know will be good, all the guys I've read about them from have only run the gbc and don't know how they compare to maxxis.

I have a front tire with 3 good sized cuts in it after Davis. I am thinking about replacing mine with X-Rex after seeing them. Just have to see if the shipping prices are not outrageous.

For $120 shipped I can either get a new set of x-rex or a very slightly used set of razr 2's so I'll wait and see how you like them if you buy some.

i have run hole shots, hole shot GNCC and razr II. with out a doubt the razr II is where you want to spend your money. the 22" front tire is a lot of tire....

I have x-rex rears on my quad. I like the grip and looks of the tire but I will tell you they are not all equally made. Put 6lbs in both and one tire will be ballooned out bigger than the other.

Cody
i will be honest if you order just the 2 front tires i can not save you anything over what you can get them for direct. with the free shipping non dealers get on orders over $100 and the very small discount they offer me on Razr II you have me beat. Now add those to a bulk order such as what we have PM'd about and it will average out to a better savings.
